acronyms xsp example throws language exception

Fabrice Bongartz
Hi. By studying the query.xsp example I was hoping to learn how to use eXist
in our own XSPs, but I can't get that example to work for me.

I'm using the tomcat5-5.0.30-5jpp_6fc package on fedora core 4 with the java
sdk 1.5.0.04 from sun.
I compiled the exist snapshot 20050805 with build.sh dist-war and copied it
to
my tomcat webapps folder. When I go to http://localhost:8080/exist, I can
browse
the site, create new collections and import the examples but when I go to
http://localhost:8080/exist/acronyms/query.xsp, I get the following error
Error compiling query_xsp: Line 0, column 0: error: error reading
/var/lib/tomcat5/webapps/exist/WEB-INF/lib/libJavaReadline.so; error in
opening zip file

My friend Google and the search function for this list couldn't help me so
far. Any ideas?

Here's what I found in $EXIST_HOME/WEB-INF/logs/handled-errors.log:

ERROR   (2005-10-11) 15:00.43:843   [sitemap.handled-errors]

I'm not sure why the compiler tries to open that file, but you should be able
to fix the problem by removing libJavaReadline.so from the WEB-INF/lib
directory. libJavaReadline.so is a native Linux library used by the admin
client in shell mode (if readline is available). It is not needed for normal
operations.

Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang. Thanks, removing libJavaReadLine.so fixed the problem.
